The term “oil filtration” is used in all areas of industry, science, social environment, and so on. Filtration means the process of separation of inhomogeneous systems with the help of porous partitions, which allow the dispersion medium to pass through and delay the dispersed solid phase. Oil filtration is one of the most common methods of resource conservation in enterprises. With the help of cleansing, oil refineries, energy, food and other companies align raw materials with the norm at the stage of initial use, storage or re-use.

 

The use of an integrated oil filtration process on new equipment makes it possible to get rid of all types of contaminants that accumulate during transportation, storage and operation and are difficult to remove even with the help of highly specialized purification plants (for example, wax substances).

 

In the process, transformer oils accumulate various contaminants that can create unnecessary chemical compounds. They significantly affect the performance of oils and, of course, are undesirable.

 

The transformer is unstable and with frequent interruptions. In order to prevent such phenomena, they carry out deep cleaning and filtration of transformer oils. Consider the most productive methods.

 

The very first stage of cleaning, which give the transformer oil, is mechanical. It is, in fact, a surface treatment in order to remove solid type impurities and water. Next, carry out thermal cleaning. It is deeper and is performed using a vacuum.

 

Mechanical and thermal cleaning is, in fact, a preliminary stage. This is followed by basic cleaning, which is carried out with the use of various chemicals. Consider some of them.

 

Cleaning with sulfuric acid consists in processing transformer oils with a 98% solution of this substance.

 

When compared with other methods, the use of sulfuric acid has a significant drawback. It consists in the fact that by acting on harmful impurities, the acid also has a negative effect on the overall structure of the oil, making it not very stable in operation. Therefore, additional costs are required to neutralize these effects.

 

The essence of cleaning by a selective method can be understood already from the name itself. When it is performed, special solvents selectively neutralize unwanted substances in the oil.
