I just happened to be up when I saw this story on Memeorandum.  Apparently, Justin Barrett is a police officer and member of the national guard in Boston.  So far, I am not sure if he actualy sent this e-mail to the writer he is criticizing or how it came to the attention of his commanders but he has been suspended for it.  It is getting late here so I will have to find out more about this tommorrow and add some updates or a new entry.  For now, you can read the e-mail here: Justin Barrett full Gates e-mail

     I am predicting this will lead to another rash of discussions on the “culture of hate” in police departments and how we “still have a long way to go in race relations”.  There are stupid people everywhere.  Why is it every time a stupid white guy says something stupid, he is held up as a representative for all white guys?  That hasn’t happened in this case yet, but I am guessing it will.  This story is just beginning.
