Holy crap! I leave for a week and this is what happens?  Eight Republicans voted for a cap and trade climate change government expansion pile of B.S. that smells so bad 44 Democrats voted against it.  H.R. 2454 is the official name of the Waxman-Markey bill, you can read it in its entirety here(H. R. 2454 ) if you have a lot of spare time, it’s longer than many novels. This bill was a top prority for Nancy Pelosi, who should be facing an investigation right now but is not for some reason. It passed in the House by a margin of 219 to 212.  Suddenly, those 8 Republican votes become pretty important.  There is a list of the 8 Republicans who don’t want to stay in office here: Michelle Malkin: The 8 tax and cap Republicans.  When the leader of your Party (John Beohner, Republican minority leader in the House) is calling a bill a “pile of shit”, maybe you shouldn’t vote for it. Well, John Boehner did just that after reading portions of the bill aloud.  Here’s an excerpt of that: Hot Air: Boehner slaps down Waxman.

At least someone in the House is reading bills now before passing them.

This whole “global warming/global climate change/ global cooling” crap has gone way too far.  Even Newt Gingrich has stated that he basically accepts the reality of global climate change and has pushed for “green conservatism”.  The reality of global climate change is that it’s a farce.  It doesn’t exist.  It’s a sham.  I have documented many of the arguments against global climate change/warming/cooling/nothing is happening previously ( 2084 - climate change, Obesity=global warming, Earthday- the most effective made up holiday ever, N.A.S.A. study suggest the sun make the earth warmer).  Here is a little more to think about:Fire and Ice.  Even the WWF can’t support their arguments of a dwindling polar bear population with any actual evidence.  Their own study concluded that while 2 groups of polar bears (16.4% of the total population) are decreasing, 10 groups are stable (45.4 % of the population) and 2 other groups are increasing (13.6% of the population) with the status of 6 groups unknown.  Let’s see, that means that even if all six of the unknown populations are decreasing, that would still leave 59% of the population at either stable or increasing.  Where I went to school, 59% makes a majority.  Polar bears rejoice. Mitchell Taylor has dedicated his life to studying polar bears.  For some reason, he has been left off the invitation list for a meeting of “experts” on polar bears and global warming.  I wonder if it has anything to do with Mitchell Taylor’s findings that polar bear populations are up over the past 30 years. (Polar bear expert barred by global warmists )Let’s be real, you would have to be a fucking idiot to still believe there is any real science behind this crap.

So…since this isn’t about saving the world from the destructive forces of global whatever we are calling it this week, what is it about?  That’s easy, it’s about power.  It’s about the same thing as bailing out GM or outlawing smoking in privately owned businesses.  It’s the government expanding its involvement in your life under the guise of helping you.  Global climate change is just an elaborate sham that lets the government pretend to take the moral high road while taking away a bit more freedom.  It’s amazing how many conspiracy theories exist about 9-11 but global whim o’ the week is accepted as hard science.  This is the type of shit that is going to give me an aneurism some day.

Enough of that…on to the 8 Republicans who went along with this load of crap.  There are a few things that can be done.  The people in those states can vote them out in a year and a half.  Until then, everyone can make their lives miserable by flooding them with e-mails, phone calls etc… letting them know that their actions are unacceptable.  In addition, pressure can be put on the NRCC with the Not One Red Cent campaign.  The Other McCain has added this cause to the list of causes the NRCC needs to address before they can expect to win back the hearts, and checkbooks of the conservatives they once represented The Other McCain: Letter to NRCC chairman.  The Republican Party needs to get the message.  Conservatives are not happy with a Republicans who offer the alternative of being somewhat less liberal.  The Republican Party is at a crossroad.  Do they continue to try to appeal to the center and to moderate Democrats or do they try to win back conservatives?  The party may have to shed some excess weight to emerge a leaner, trimmer, more conservative party ready to do battle on principles again instead of “reaching across the aisle” all the time.  I’m tired of “reaching across the aisle to find common ground”.  You don’t find common ground when the other person is wrong.  If you don’t believe the left is wrong on most of what they do, then maybe you should stop reaching across the aisle and just join them so we know who you are.   I’m going to go spray aerosol hairspray on a fat guy eating steak then chop down some trees using my assault rifle.
