A recruiter and a recruit returning from basic training were shot in Arkansas today.  William Long was killed, Quenton Ezeagwula was wounded.   So far, little is know about the suspect, formerly Carlos Bledsoe, now Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad. What is known is that he is a recent convert to the religion of Islam (if you didn’t guess from the name change) and he was strongly anti U.S. and anti U.S. military. So far, no left wingers have commented on the “culture of hate” known as radical Islam. A nut in Kansas shoots an abortion doctor and anyone who is against late term abortions is responsible for the murder and the press can’t cover the story enough. A nut belonging to a certain “religion of peace” shoots two soliders in Arkansas and its an anomaly barely even worthy of attention. In fact, as of this writing Memeorandum has pages of stories on the death of Dr. Tiller.  So far, nothing on the death of William Long and the wounding of Quenton Ezeagwula.  Hot Air: Military recruiter murdered in Arkansas and Sister Toldjah: Breaking: Military recruits gunned down in Little Rock also have details on the story.  This is as much of a tragedy as the killing of Dr. Tiller and all three families should be in our prayers.  Remember though, when you read the continued attacks of the left for the death of Dr. Tiller, using their logic, Obama and war protestors  and groups like Code Pink are responsible for this shooting.  They have accused the U.S. military of victimizing and torturing Muslims just as Bill O’Reilly called out Dr. Tiller for killing babies (the difference being that Dr.Tiller actually did kill babies).  Using their argument, Carlos Bledsoe (nutjob) was inspired by the anti-America and anti-military culture of the left and of Islam. We could say Code Pink killed William Long and Quenton Ezeagwula just as Bill O’Reilly killed Dr. Tiller.  On the other hand,  we could accept the fact that there are nuts in the world who kill for their own motivations and people, even nut jobs and douche bags, are responsible for their own actions.

     My prediction is that this will not result in an acknowledgement of individual responsibility.  These incidents will be painted as proof that we need stricter gun legislation.

Update: So far, my prediction was wrong,  there is no call for new gun control because Obama has not even acknowledged the attacks on the recruits Michelle Malkin: Obama condemns muslim attack on Arkansas Army recruiters…not

Update: well, its now Tuesday and the coverage of the killing of two soldiers remains minimal.  Many stations and papers made a cursory mention of it.  President Obama has yet to acknowledge it.  Dr. Tiller’s deat accounted for pages of headlines on Memeorandum.  There are more headlines on memeorandum about the degrading comments made by Guy Cimbalo in Playboy ( Sundries Shack: I don’t know Guy Cimbalo but I’d enjoy punching him in the mouth ) than the shooting of two people who have volunteered to defend this country.  Awesome!
