Mr. Obama has a bad day
Well, President Obama has run into a problem that many liberals are eventually confronted with…reality. Here in the land of reality, things don’t just happen because you say they should. Today, Obama took a nice spanking from reality. I know, it stings, but you’re the President now. You have to pick yourself up little chap.
First off, Congress decided maybe it wasn’t a great idea to close Gitmo when we have no place to put those being held there. Since we don’t yet possess the technology to send people to the land of Equalia (”where everyone is equal and we’re in charge”…Lisa Simpson) we need to find some place to send these misunderstood paragons of the “Religion of Peace”. Strangely enough, no one wants to take in these poor detainees who have been forced to endure the hardships of eating better than they do in their own third world shitholes that they come from. So, for now, Gitmo stays open. Frowney face for Obama. Sister Toldjah: Senate rebukes Obama on Gitmo
Keeping with the theme of peace loving Muslims, Iran tested out a balistic missile today. Similar to when Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said there were no homosexuals in Iran, or Israel has no right to exist, I am sure this is a misunderstanding. I am sure this has nothing to do with the meeting between Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. I bet Iran is just gearing up for a big surprise 4th of July celebration to show their appreciation for the recent “gestures” of President Obama. That’s got to be it! Hot Air: Iran tests new missile
Lastly, Republicans have found a way to put themselves in at least one win-win situation. In this new strategy, they find bills the Democrats are really set on passing, then tack on some gun legislation at the last minute. Tom Coburn, a Republican from Oklahoma worked this maneuver perfectly to get a bill passed allowing citizens to carry guns in National Parks. “Timing is everything in politics.” he said. This way, either the gun legislation gets passed, or the bill bogs down, as some others have. Either way, win for Republicans. This also resulted in a Democrat calling proponents of the bill “Gun nuts” and angered Barbara Boxer, but that’s just icing on the cake. Now, when Obama signs his credit card legislation, he will also be signing for increased gun rights. Between this and the Firearms Freedom Acts all over the country, the 2nd and 10th amendment may be coming back into style.
