R. S. McCain, of The Other McCain, has a long standing history chronicling the adventures of Meghan McCain in entries like this: Dear Meghan. So I thought for sure he would have an entry today discussing her antics at the White House correspondents’ dinner.  So far, he doesn’t, so if you want to read about it you can do so here: Hot Air Meghan McCain.  Instead, I will continue to ride the “Carrie Prejean nude” wave with a link to his Latest “Carrie Prejean Nude” news update.

The even larger hit wave last week was Dijon gate.  Somehow, I have missed out on these hits to this point despite the fact that I did an expertly written entry entitled Obama orders Dijon mustard and saves the economy.  I guess I didn’t use the words “Obama” and “Dijon mustard” together enough times for google to pick up on it.  So pardon me for the above attempt to cash in on the tail end of Dijon gate.

Now, on to my actual topic for this entry.  I meant to write this yesterday but I was running late for a poker tournament.  Then I won some money and my wife and I went out.  Anyway, onward we go.  In an interview Sunday, Dick Cheney, a man who is hated and, dare I say feared, by liberals everywhere, came out in support of Rush Limbaugh, also hated and feared by liberals.  It was actually a pretty predictable statement.  Cheney basically said that he prefers the direction Limbaugh wants for the Republican Party vs. the direction of Colin Powell.  He also stated that he thought Colin Powell was now a Democrat anyway.  You may remember, Colin Powell supported Barack Obama over John McCain.  If John McCain is too far right for you, you probably should be a Democrat.

These statements have led to the usual bit of name calling and accusations of racism.  Wanda Sykes accused Rush Limbaugh of terrorism and wished kidney failure on him at the White House correspondents’ dinner that Meghan McCain was so eager to attend.  First off, these people should be careful about pissing off Dick Cheney.  He already shot one man in the face and that was his friend.

There is another predictable result of these statements.  A great many bloggers, members of the media etc… are saying this is what is wrong with the Republican Party.  The party is shrinking because it is moving too far to the right and becoming too conservative.  WHAT????

Of course, these statements come from bloggers on the left and the mainstream media.  I think the Republican Party just ran a “moderate” (see Democrat) in the last election.  Strangely enough, all the liberals and moderates who insisted McCain was the best nominee still didn’t vote for him.  Conservatives also didn’t vote for him.  Now, instead of a Republican in the White House, John McCain and others are out on a “listening tour” to find out how the Republicans can reconnect with the people.

I don’t know why a tour is required when the people seem to already be screaming what they want.  Instead of spending money on a listening tour, take a few hours and read some of the conservative blogs popping up all over the net.  Attend a Tea Party.  The Republican Party has been listening to liberals telling them they need to connect with moderates for too long.  They should try listening to some conservatives, and members of their own party, like Dick Cheney and Rush Limbaugh.  The party isn’t shrinking; it’s being purified and concentrated!  A good gauge of how well you are doing would be to see how much people like Wanda Sykes hate you.  Of course, if they really want some attention, they could pose topless like Carrie Prejean. (Didn’t see that coming did you?) CHENEY LIMBAUGH 2012!
