Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn wants the 2074 page health care bill to be read aloud, front to back, on the Senate floor.  This reading could take anywhere from a couple days to closer to a week. The best part is, there’s nothing that can be done to stop it.  Any Senator can request this treatment for any bill.  In fact, Senate Rule XIV states that every bill “shall receive three readings prior to its passage”.  I agree with William A. Jacobson at Legal Insurrection on this one,”This absurd legislation deserves the theater of the absurd“.  The only thing I would add…you can’t vote on the bill unless you sit through the entire reading, awake.
