It’s been a busy week in New York 23.  This is an election that could play a major role in the direction of the Republican party.  “Moderate” Republican DeDe Scozzafava bowed out of the race, then showed what kind of Republican she is by endorsing the Democrats’ candidate, Bill Owens (The Other McCain: Surprise, surprise, DeDe is a Democrat, Hot Air: Scozzafava endorses Democrat).  While several prominent conservatives have thrown their support behind Doug Hoffman, John Boehner is regretting his initial backing of Scozzafava (Michelle Malkin: The GOP and its deadly alliances).

Looking a little further ahead, Sue Lowden is attempting to unseat Harry Reid here in Nevada.  She could use any help you can give as Harry Reid will have the President and the entire Democrat Party trying to prevent this from happening.  My mother got to meet her when she came to Elko a few weeks ago and my mother thinks she is a wonderful person.  That’s good enough for me, but for those of you who might want to know more or see how you can help out, her website is SueLowden.com.

Not everyone can afford to take a tropical cruise for a vacation this year.  We took a trip to the Oregon coast earlier this year and it was great and didn’t cost much.  Some friends of mine own a bed and breakfast on a lake near the coast.  Check them out if you are trying to come up with a vacation you can afford this year; Foster Lake Bed and Breakfast

Lastly, this is a project I first read about on The Daley Gator.  The Valor IT Project is helping to raise funds for wounded soldiers.  Every little bit helps.
