Limbaugh guilty of things other people said
Some people don’t want Rush Limbaugh to be involved with the St. Louis Rams. Representative Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas has urged the National Football league to bar Rush from purchasing the team. Sheila Jackson Lee is the same lady who was upset because hurricanes have caucasian sounding names. Representative Emmanuel Cleaver (D-MO) had previously expressed his approval of Rush buying the Rams. I wasn’t aware that the purchase of NFL teams fell under the jurisdiction of a state Representative, from an entirely different state even, but I guess that’s one of the new roles of our expanded government.
The reason Sheila (and others) is all worked up is the belief that Rush Limbaugh is a racist. The evidence of this is a list of quotes being circulated on the internet. Some of the quotes are taken out of context, others are just plain fabrication. As is always the case with these type of accusations, Rush Limbaugh is assumed to be guilty and left with the task of proving a negative.
More importantly, it doesn’t matter if Rush Limbaugh actually is a racist. He is attempting to purchase a football team. There is no law, or even rule preventing an individual from doing things like purchasing football teams, or running for Congress (like Ku Klux Klan recruiter and Democrat Roberty Byrd) etc…based on their supposed political views. Here are some great entries on the topic: Ace of Spades: Charles Johnson denouncing fake racist quotes, The Other McCain: L.A. Times art critic beyond parody, Michelle Malkin: The Anti-Rush revival revisited, Hot Air: Matthews muses on killing Rush Limbaugh
