Two regular American citizens have accomplished what Attorney Generals across the country were unable to do.  James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles from BigGovernment.com have been visiting ACORN offices in  various cities along the east coast.  They have been pretending to be a prostitute and a pimp looking to get a housing loan so they will have a place to run their illegal business and house the underage illegal alien prostitutes they are planning on importing. In my previous post on ACORN’s tax advice for pimps and prostitutes, I posted the videos of James O’Keef and Hannah Giles visiting the Baltimore and Washington D.C. ACORN offices.  ACORN claimed these were isolated incidents and fired the employees involved.  Now a video has surfaced of James O’Keef and Hannah Giles visitng an ACORN office in New York.  Guess what…the ACORN employees in New York seem to operate pretty much the same as those in Baltimore and New York.   They don’t even give good advice on running you illegal prostitution ring.  “Bury the money in your back yard?”  Here’s the video:

     At this point, ACORN employees with no morals or respect for the law isn’t really news (Michelle Malkin has a little ACORN history lesson here: Michelle Malkin: ACORN watch, honesty is not going to get you the house).  What is news is the effect it has finally had at the federal level.  ACORN has been investigated in several states for voter registration fraud and a variety of other charges.  Glenn Beck, Fox News and pretty much everyone on the right has been calling for an investigation into ACORN and for Congress to stop giving billions of dollars to ACORN, at least until it can be determined how corrupt the organization is.  This has had no effect on Congress or Obama.  In fact, ACORN was signed up to do the 2010 census.  ACORN employees have been arrested and convicted in several states.  No effect on Congress.  Now, in the last few days since these videos have surfaced, the Census Bureau has cut ties with ACORN. 

    Congress is even finally being forced to act.  Republican Senator Mike Johanns introduced an amendment to a HUD and Transportation Bill.  This amendment would strip ACORN of all federal funding.  The amendment passed with an 83-7 vote.  Apparently, 7 Democrats are ok with funding advice on tax evasion, prostitution and importing underage girls for the sex trade.  Maybe its part of a new “homes for ho’s” program they are developing. This is what a few determined Americans can accomplish when armed with a little drive…and the truth.  Read more about it and see which Democrats voted against it here: Big Government: Senate votes to defund ACORN  here: Hot Air: Senate votes to cut of federal funding for ACORN and here: Protein Wisdom: Senate votes to defund criminal enterprise ACORN

     Update: Following the Senate vote and the Census Bureau distancing themselves, ACORN has decided to sue those involved in exposing their corruption.  Hot Air has the story here: Hot Air: ACORN doubles down on 13.  This is a fairly common tactic of the left.  When confronted with facts, claim victimhood and blame a right wing conspiracy.  I put the over/under at 24 hours before someone is screaming raaaaacism!

Update:  Today (9-17) the House also voted to defund ACORN.  Nancy Pelosi disavows any knowledge of what is going on in the House or Senate.
